Apple is holding a Special Event on September 5th. So, what do you think they could be talking about this time? Since we just had an event with new iMacs, iWork, iLife and an updated Mac mini, what else is left? Well, we still haven’t seen any new iPods or iPod nanos featuring sexy iPhone-like features. Speaking of the iPhone, just about every mobile operator in Europe have been at one time or another “confirmed” to carry the new phone. We can expect an announcement either with T-Mobile, Vodafone, O2, etc. Or all of them.

We asked and prayed … Steve Jobs answered, Apple delivered. Apple has announced a whole slew of new updates, including the much-rumoured iMac with new form factor, the delayed iLife and iWork updates, and the much-needed, extremely long awaited update for the online .Mac services.

I’m sure you’ve heard the news by now. Today, August 7th 2007, Apple is holding a special event at their Town Hall in Cupertino. Apple has already hinted that it’s not an iPhone or iPod announcement, which means that it’s probably a Mac mini or iMac update.

Apple just released their past quarter financial results, and the numbers look really good. In the 3 months ending June 30th, Apple has managed to :
- ship 1,764,000 Macs (a new company record by more than 150,000 computers)
- sell 9,815,000 iPods (well over 100,000 per day)
- gain US$5.41 billion in revenue and net quarterly profit of US$818 million

Looks like everyone’s panicking over the recent spate of laptop explosions. Following Dell’s massive battery recall, Apple is following suite. If you have a Powerbook G4 or iBook G4, then take a look at the Apple Battery Exchange Program. This program is for batteries manufactured by Sony.
There’s also a previous Apple Battery Exchange Program for batteries manufactured by LG Chem, Ltd. of South Korea.

Today, Mac geeks and developers converge in San Francisco for WWDC 2006 – Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference. There’s a lot of value in the conference, from presentations, hands on sessions and labs, to feedback forums. Of course, for everyone else, it’s the culmination of intense speculation over the past several months. WWDC might as well be What is Apple going to release and When can I get that Damn shiny new Computer? In a few more hours we’ll soon find out. We know for sure that for his keynote Apple CEO Steve Jobs will talk at length about Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard (aka “Vista 2.0″). The question is, what else will be revealed?
