The new iMac G5

One surprise announcement in Tuesday’s “One More Thing” event was the revamped Apple iMac G5. Everyone was expecting either new PowerMacs or Powerbooks, but the new iMac G5 is quite cool.
The new iMac G5 sports some welcome improvements:
- an integrated iSight digital camera
- slimmer form factor
- lower prices (US$1299 for the 17 inch and US$1699 for the 20 inch)
- Superdrive as standard
- Mighty Mouse as standard feature
- a new infrared remote control
Also included are the PhotoBooth application (for taking photos of yourself) and the new Front Row application which should position the iMac as a great Media Centre.
