The Mac mini is truly a great platform for innovators. In just a short while, the Mac mini has been put in cars, in kitchens, behind displays, and in many unexpected places. Apple has started to officially acknowledge and encourage the Mac mini modder community, with their Mac mini Big Ideas site.

Featured on the site are Team Banzai’s Self Driving car, a Millennium Falcon case mod, Mac mini server colocation services, a Mac mini robot, and more.

Everybody’s hoping that Apple will announce new versions of the Mac mini during Macworld next month – perhaps with Intel processors? We’ll keep you posted.
