So what do people do on Christmas eve? Shop for the Apple Macbook on Amazon.com, apparently. The Apple Macbook, specifically the White version with 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, 1 GB RAM, 120 GB Hard Drive, 8x SuperDrive was the best seller. A lot of people were waiting for Leopard before upgrading their Macs, and this was a good time as any.

What's coming up for Macworld?

Now that we are very close to the year end, Macworld is just around the corner! We still don’t know for sure what Apple has up its sleeve for the annual Apple consumer expo. Here are some interesting tidbits in the Apple world :

- According to AppleInsider, Apple will adopt Intel’s UltraMobile PC (UMPC) platform for new devices. Apple will probably use Intel’s Silverthorne processor for new versions of the iPhone and maybe for the oft-rumoured tablet PC.
- Speaking of the iPhone, how many units have been sold so far? Expect Steve Jobs to announce it in January. With the iPhone selling (fairly) well in the US, UK, Germany and France, 9to5Mac predicts that Apple will announce 5 million units of iPhones sold.
- Who else is interested in using Macs? According to this article from Forbes magazine, the American military is working to integrate Macs into their technology infrastructure. The reason? Security, of course.

Website Review : Web Hosting Choice

What service do you use for web hosting? iWeb makes it super easy for newbies to start building their own websites. However, the next question would be where would you host your website? For Mac users, the most obvious initial choice for web hosting would be Apple’s own .mac (dot mac). .mac has a lot of features built in, especially integration with Apple’s iLife suite (iPhoto, iWeb etc). However, at $100 a year, it is quite expensive compared to other available options. So what are those options?

iPod touch versus Amazon Kindle for ebooks

Kindle: Amazon\'s New Wireless Reading Device Apple 16 GB iPod touch

Which device would make a better document / ebook reader : Amazon’s new Kindle “Wireless Reading Device” or Apple iPod touch? The Kindle costs the same as the 16GB iPod touch (US$400), so it’s easier to compare the two devices on features alone.
