iPhone early adopters : here's $100

September 7th, 2007

So, it was no surprise that there would be a backlash from early adopters, when Herr Jobs announced the $200 price cut for the Apple iPhone. In fact, Jobs pretty much said “tough luck” when asked by a journalist about the potential complaints from early adopters.

Well, Apple continues to surprise us. In an open letter to iPhone customers (guess the Fake Steve Jobs blog was busy), Jobs said that he read every one of the hundreds of emails from angry customers. He defends the decision to cut the price of the iPhone, and reiterates that there’s always something cheaper and better out every few months in the technology world.

Jobs says : “We apologize for disappointing some of you, and we are doing our best to live up to your high expectations of Apple.”

So, Apple will be giving $100 Apple Store certificates to all affected iPhone customers. Isn’t that nice?
