iPhone gets longer battery life; Apple stock rises

10 days and counting!  iPhone fever is rising, and Apple is managing it very well indeed.  While most new products these days face delays and reduction in features, Apple manages to coax a bit more effort out of its iPhone engineers.  Apple announced that it has increased the battery life from the previously-mentioned 5 hours, to 8 hour of talk time.  If you don’t feel up to talking, then the iPhone battery is also good for 6 hours of Internet use, 7 hours of video playback, 24 hours of audio playback and a whopping 250 hours of standby time.  Obviously this is great news for Apple fans, and for those who are salivating over the appearance of the iPhone.

The US stock market also agrees — just by increasing the battery life by 60%, Apple stock rose almost US$3 yesterday.

Apple has also released some competitive information on the iPhone, (correctly) pitching it against the high end phones in the market today, such as the Nokia N95, Treo 750 and Blackberry Curve 8300.
