
For a lot of people, it has been a very long wait to June 29th. Starting at 6pm today in various locations in the United States, you will be able to purchase the Apple iPhone at an Apple or AT&T Store. 164 Apple Store will open until midnight — but I guess before then, some people may be disappointed if (when?) the iPhone stocks run out.

Well it’s been a hectic week for Apple, and the iPhone isn’t even out yet! First, Apple released a 20-minute guided tour video highlighting the various functions of the iPhone. It’s an interesting watch, and it also reveals some previously unknown facts. Of course, if Apple had chosen a more dynamic (or female?) host for the video, the overall experience would have been even more enjoyable.

Apple must be buzzing with activity right now, with the preparations for the iPhone launch going full steam ahead. While we are waiting for Leopard (Mac OS X 10.5) to drop in October, Apple has released what will probably be the last version of Tiger (Mac OS X 10.4).

10 days and counting! iPhone fever is rising, and Apple is managing it very well indeed. While most new products these days face delays and reduction in features, Apple manages to coax a bit more effort out of its iPhone engineers. Apple announced that it has increased the battery life from the previously-mentioned 5 hours, to 8 hour of talk time. If you don’t feel up to talking, then the iPhone battery is also good for 6 hours of Internet use, 7 hours of video playback, 24 hours of audio playback and a whopping 250 hours of standby time. Obviously this is great news for Apple fans, and for those who are salivating over the appearance of the iPhone.

Apple has released the upgraded versions of its high end MacBook Pro notebooks. The new 15-inch MacBook Pro models are now lighter and feature longer battery life, thanks to energy savings from the Intel Santa Rosa chipsets and new LED-backlit screens. The 17-inch MacBook Pro have an optional, higher resolution 1920-by-1200 screens. The resolution upgrade is $100 more.
