Macworld has the first impressions of the new MacBook. 

Jason Snell: “The biggest change with this keyboard is its look. Previous Apple laptops have featured keyboards with keys that are wide at the base, but narrower at the top. As a result, even though there are fairly large spaces between the square areas where your fingers contact the keys, there are only tiny gaps down at the base of the keys.”

Cyrus Farivar: “[The 13-inch] MacBook fits quite nicely into the Booq PowerSleeve12—only sticking out a little bit, but not enough to prevent the bag from closing. The extra resolution is quite nice too, as it allows me to have a good-sized browser window while keeping an instant message client open on the side.”

Apple launches the MacBook

After much speculation (and a week late, according to some), Apple has launched the new MacBook. The MacBook is a replacement for both the consumer iBook series, as well as the 12inch PowerBook. The Apple laptop line has now completed the transition to the Intel chips. There’s a lot to like about the MacBook, with up to 2GHz of Intel Core Duo processing power, an integrated iSight camera, Front Row, iLife ’06, and a 13-inch “glossy” widescreen display.

Apple vs. Apple : (our) Apple wins!

Abbey Road

The Apple Corps (the record label of the Beatles) versus Apple Computer (the company that makes Macs and iPods) lawsuit has come to an end. The dispute came about when Apple Corps said that the iTunes Music Store violated an earlier agreement which stated that Apple Computer would not get into the music business. A British judge has decided in favour of Apple Computer – read the full legal decision.
