Your Intel Mac can run Windows – Legally

Well, after the much-publicised $14,000 competition to find a workaround to run Windows on the new Intel Macs, Apple decides to give the functionality away for free – and legally, too. The new feature – called Apple Boot Camp – lets you install Windows XP on your Mac without moving your data.
Apple reiterates its position of not officially supporting or selling Microsoft Windows, saying that “you will need to bring your own copy to the table”.
Apple Boot Camp is expected to be made available as part of the next version of Mac OS X, 10.5 Leopard. Boot Camp is currently in beta and you can download it now (83MB).
Boot Camp requires an Intel-based Mac with a USB keyboard and mouse, or a built-in keyboard and TrackPad; Mac OS X version 10.4.6 or later; the latest firmware update; at least 10GB of free space on the startup disk; a blank recordable CD or DVD; and single-disc version of Windows XP Home Edition or Professional with Service Pack 2 or later.
