Apple is promising “some fun new products” during an event next week. The invitation-only event will be held 10am on 28th February. So what could Steve Jobs have up his sleeve this time? It could be anything :
- A true video iPod with touchscreen and widescreen resolution
- A tablet Mac
- A smartphone
- A new iBook
- A Mac mini Media Center edition
…Or a plush toy?

If you have Apple’s iLife 2006, go check your Mac’s Software Update control panel. Apple has released a minor update for all of the iLife applications, i.e. iDVD, iMovie, iTunes, iPhoto, and the new iWeb.

Apple MacBook Pro finally shipping

Apple MacBook Pro 15.4

Looks like the long wait is over. Apple has announced that the new MacBook Pro notebooks will be shipping this week. Apple has also added a nice bonus – the two models will feature upgraded processors. The new models will now feature 1.8GHz and 2.0GHz processors. The prices will remain the same at US$1,999 and US$2,499 respectively.

The Mac mini is a great machine – it’s compact, uses minimal power, and it’s reasonably fast. However, the small size is also a limitation in terms of expansion capability. Aniel of Lessons Learned has posted information and photos of his Mac mini setup, complete with dual displays.
